                       Dwarven-Torog Wars

151: Beginning of the Dwarven-Torog Wars
As the years pass, the powerful enchantments placed upon the
Torogs (Trolls) begin to wear off, and with this slow return to
their natural state, they begin warring with the Elves. After
about a decade of fighting, in 151, the Torogs open a gate into
the Plane of Fire, imploring Kos, their ancient God of
Destruction, to torch the land above, ridding them of the Elves.
Kruach, the great Lava Worm, intercepts their plea, however, and
sends an army of Molten Dwarves (magically enhanced Mountain
Dwarves), as a house-warming party. The Torogs, sufficiently
chastised for playing with fire, flee for their lives. After the
battle, the Dwarves shed their molten skin, temporarily granted
to them by Kruach, and rename Torogmar after their benifactor,
knowing it henceforth as Kruachimar.

     -------------------------------------------------------
Ancient tales tell of a world without surface where the
Dwarves and Trolls both engaged in endless conflict. It
is said that in this battle ground of stone and lava
with occasional pockets of air or water, the Dwarves
were pushed to the very brink of extinction.

After losing his father in a decisive battle, Prince
Naro gathered his people together and led them into
retreat via the great chasm of endless fire. He had a
huge chunk of stone hollowed out which served as a
lava-ocean vessel via which his people escaped
destruction. They floated for several days, desperately
hoping to find some land as their vessel continued to
     liquify.

Finally, with the ship crowded beyond hope, Naro
decided that he would be the first to jump to a fiery
death. Seeing his courage, the great LavaWorm whom the
Dwarves knew only as Kruach, granted Naro and his
people a thick layer of skin composed of molten bronze.
This magical skin protected the Dwarves while they
     traversed through the Firelands.

Meanwhile, on another plane not so very far away, an
intelligent band of Trolls were petitioning the Gods of
Fire & Destruction to burn the surface of their world
to a cinder, thus destroying the Elves which lived upon
it. These petitions fell upon Dwarven ears, however
(presumably via the will of Kruach), and the Dwarves
rushed forward in their natural molten armor, finding
themselves in the midst of a Troll City which they
conquered and called Kruachimar in memory of the
     LavaWorm.

151-197: Elven Pact with the Dwarves
Over the decades, the Dwarves prove themselves better miners
and fairer traders than the Torogs ever were, even when on their
best behavior. Elrohir meets with Naro (From Fire), the Dwarven
King or Gonhir (Stone Lord) as he is called. In 197, Elrohir and
Naro form a pact. The Dwarves may inhabit the land below ground
while the Elves will inhabit the land above ground, and each will
aid the other in time of war. With the pact, trade agreements are
renewed and Naro gains the help of elven magic to use in his
race's continuing fight against the Torogs.

281: Final Defeat of the Torogs
The Dwarves succeed in crushing the last of the Torogs'
organized resistance. The remaining Torogs are enslaved in the
mines for the dirtiest and most dangerous work (to which,
according to Naro, they are ideally suited).
