Humans (City Giants)

Humans range in height from 5'6" to 6' typically. Their skin ranges
from dark brown to pinkish white. Eyes are usually brown but can be blue
or green more rarely.

Humans are the only race on the peninsula who live in cities and they
live almost exclusively in three cities: Storm Hold, Zhantoq, and Bar'Kal.
The other races regard these large groupings, sometimes with as many as
50 000 inhabitants, with a mixture of awe and disgust. Human stories of
distant empires where 250 000 people are found in one place are greeted with
incredulity.

In addition to their city-dwelling ways, humans are known as traders.
Their cities, along with massive road and canal projects, bring together
individuals from all the lands (and seas in the case of the Oogloo) of the
region. Humans are very pluralistic and are sometimes regarded as immoral,
especially due to their tendency towards love of material things. Humans are
also seen by some as detached from nature and unable to deal with it.

A typical human city is built in concentric circles. At the center is
stone fortress which houses the nobility and their military forces. The
second circle is a rich area of temples, villas, markets and arenas. This is
surounded by a secondary wall or wooden pallisade, and is sometimes off-
limits to the common folk. Outside the second circle will be poorer areas
with large numbers of dwellings, small shops and the like. Finally, the outer
circle will be a large, thinly populated area of farms and/or a port district.
